Hello, my name is Miss Carney and I am the Pastoral Youth Minister at Lourdes Academy!
My main job is to provide opportunities for our students to participate in their faith outside of the classroom. In addition to that, I am here to provide the students and staff with someone to talk to on a daily basis - someone that can help them process and walk through any problems they may be experiencing, and also to pray with them and for them. I also help coordinate service opportunities and service hour records for our high schoolers.
At Lourdes, the Campus Ministry department hopes to help the youth grow in their faith through Campus Ministry events, Mass prep/participation, chapel Mass, adoration, confession, and faith-based small groups to name a few.
Get to know Miss Carney
Before coming to Lourdes Academy, Miss Carney worked in the parish setting as the Coordinator of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry for 3 years in Menasha. She decided to go into ministry in college because her youth minister had a great impact on her faith journey in MS/HS and she hopes to help youth in similar ways as they continue on their faith journeys and grow closer in relationship with Jesus.
Miss Carney loves to grow in her faith by learning more about the Saints and how their lives aren’t always that much different from our own. They lived ordinary lives, but did extraordinary things with their lives. Her favorite Saints are St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Teresa of Calcutta.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Nikko, doing photography, doing crafts, reading, and exploring/hiking all of the Wisconsin State Parks.
